Key Card Switch Wins Editor’s Choice Award for Green Technology at 2011 IHMRS
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (December 2, 2011) – Verve Living Systems, developer of energy-efficiency control products, won the Editor’s Choice Award for Best Green Technology Product during the 2011 International Hotel Motel and Restaurant Show (IHMRS).
The award was for the Verve™ Key Card Switch, which is part of the new hospitality product line introduced by Verve Living Systems this year. The product is an extremely affordable way to add occupancy based control for HVAC, lighting and electrical loads to hotel guest rooms. Verve solutions provide effective energy savings and return on investment without compromising guest comfort.
The Verve product line includes 27 individual products across the categories of Occupancy Detection, HVAC Control, Lighting and Load Control and User Interfaces. These components work together to determine the occupancy state of a room and can automatically set-back temperature and turn off lights and other electrical loads, saving energy when the room is not occupied. Verve products are wireless and self-powered. They use solar or kinetic energy harvesting and RF communications. This means no need for additional wiring or ongoing maintenance and battery replacement. Installation and set-up are easy and can be done with in-house maintenance staff, typically in less than 30 minutes per room.
